This guide explains how to assign a driver to one or more packages scheduled for delivery across multiple locations directly from the mobile application. This ensures the correct driver is responsible for the transit of your packages.
Steps to Assign a Driver:
- Open and log in to the mobile application.
- Navigate to the 'Items' Tab.
- Within the 'Items' tab, select the 'Outbound' Section to view packages that are scheduled to leave your location.
- You have two options to select items:
- Option A: Assigning Multiple Items:
- Long-press on any item in the list view. This will typically activate a selection mode, allowing you to tap and select multiple outbound items.
- Option B: Assigning a Single Item:
- Tap on an individual item to go to its detailed information screen.
- Option A: Assigning Multiple Items:
- Once items are selected (Option A) or you are on a single item's details screen (Option B), look for and tap the '...' (3 dots) icon. This icon usually indicates more options are available.
- From the menu tap 'Assign Driver'.
- A dropdown menu of available drivers will appear.
- Select the desired driver from this list.
- After selecting the driver, tap 'Done' (or a similar confirmation button) to finalize the assignment.
Upon successful assignment, a "Driver tag" (e.g., the driver's name or ID) will appear on the package details within the mobile app, confirming the assignment. Additionally, a push-notification will typically be sent to the assigned driver's mobile device, informing them of the new delivery task.
